Requirements of chemical storage and safety precautions in the reagent cabinet

Reagent cabinet, also known as sample storage cabinet and medicine cabinet, is a cabinet used to store medicine reagents in the laboratory.

Generally, reagents are stored in a cool and ventilated place. There is a special reagent cabinet to store the reagents,the temperature in which t is lower than 30 degrees. Such reagents include inorganic acid and alkali salts that are not easily deteriorated, and organic substances that are not easily volatile and have a low ignition point,such as silicic acid, silicate, non-reducing sulfate, carbonate, hydrochloride, and weak alkali. Although the storage conditions of such substances are not very demanding, it is necessary to conduct regular inspections of such substances to ensure that the medicine is well-sealed and must be used up within the shelf life.

The management and storage of chemical reagents should pay attention to fire prevention and theft. Separate some reagents that cannot be used to extinguish fires with water (most organic substances) and those that can directly extinguish water with water.

The chemical warehouse stores a large amount of flammable and explosive chemical reagents, so the warehouse should be far away from other buildings. The wall and floor of the drug storehouse should be treated with moisture-proof materials. Ventilation equipment should be installed in the storeroom. The indoor power switch should be placed in a position isolated from the medicine where should be no exposed wires. Some rooms in the warehouse do not need to install heating devices, and the temperature of some rooms cannot be lower than 25°C. The management and storage of chemical reagents is a very rigorous issue,we must strictly follow the requirements to eliminate all potential safety hazards.
